strawman

it can be said that winter is the prettiest time of the year and nothing is better than everything being covered in snow. i agree it is nice to look out and see nothing but white and see the amount of difference between there being snow and there not being snow. of course if your a child snow is the prettiest thing ever because it can mean no school and a day at the park. i myself have stayed up as late as i could just looking outside for that one snowflake to start falling, just hoping that there is a blizzard on the way. well the question is that how can something dead be pretty? during winter nothing is alive, everything is dull and colorless and boring. humans haven't learned that winter sucks yet, in fact birds and bears are the only ones to have figured out winter isn't anything special, they either fly south or hibernate.

  1. This is a good start. I'm not sure how it responds to Bryson, though--does he think that winter's beautiful? I like your logic about death, cold, and smart animals running away.

More care could be given to editing, though--capitalize the first letter of a sentence, and correct spelling errors.
