Friendly People, Bill Bryson

Bill Bryson discusses in the article "Friendly People" that the United States is really safe, even safe enough to keep your doors unlocked. Bryson is also from New Hampshire, which is the safest state in America, so its not safe to say that "America" is safe in general. For example, we live in Delaware County which is number 5 in the nation to raise your children because of low crime rates and good schooling. Even though Delaware County is in the top 5 crime still happens all of the time, whether its serious crime or not. America may be safe when you compare it to other countries but in general crime happens everyday, all of the time.

  1. This is a good point, but you might try to spend more time building up that strawman. Paint a clearer, stronger picture of how NH is safe and peaceful and friendly before knocking down this image of America.
