Film Blog Post

There are many kids who have autism like christopher. Some have a bad case of it and some do not, but in this musical it showed me that even kids with autism can do big things. The film helps me understand the character of christopher in a couple ways. First of all I only new autism in one way, and that's the way christopher. It affected him in a different way, it made him ask a lot of questions and be detective like. But as I watched the musical I found out that autism affects kids in different ways. Like for example Wyatt, who's autism seems like it's really affecting his life. He has a hard time making friends and is always talking about how he gets bullied. And he rants about how bullies get meaner the older they get, and he somehow thinks that everyone picks on him. But he resembles like christopher in a way because when he's describing his problems, he sounds a lot like an adult. But if we look at somebody else like Henry for example we see that autism has a higher function in some kids. Christopher and henry both have a higer version of autism called Asperger Syndrome, which enables some autism kids to know a lot about one subject. Like for example Henry knows alot about dinosaurs and prehistoric animals and reptiles, and he can talk about them for days like a real expert, and christopher can talk about detective work and investigating like a real expert. So in a way the musical helped me see what other people with autism are capable of. And their capable of a lot from singing to a vast knowledge of animals but the enviroment their in also has big impact. So in some ways autism is a gift like knowing a lot about one subject and in some ways it's not because it can make you an outcast, and for christopher it's both because it caused him troubule by investigating stuff but also helped him have to knowledge to ask full questions and get in to a university.

  1. You did a very nice job of using concrete evidence to illustrate your points--these are smart connections. There are some typos and grammar errors, though--especially capitalization (or lack of capitalization)and word order.
